Location is Everything

If you’re a fan of the show called House Hunters, you’ll notice that some couples are willing to live one hour away from work just to have their dream home. Sounds fair, right? Not until they realize they’re wasting two hours of their life in traffic every day. When you want an ideal home, choose a place that’s conveniently located to where you need to be. For example, choose a home that’s ten minutes away from work instead of one hour. You might even want to be walking distance from the grocery store or a park.

Commute to Places

To us, location is everything! This can make a difference in your commute, as schools, restaurants, and local amenities are easily available. You may even want to consider living close to the highway so you can easily jump from one part of the city to another.

Of course, this is according to your lifestyle. Some people don’t mind living in rural areas where they’re far away from the bustling life of the city. Others prefer convenience. Still, a majority of renters and homebuyers understand that location is where it comes down to.

Scoping the Area

Before deciding on a place, make sure you get a full scope of the area. Try walking to convenient locations and have a good feel for the community. Is it safe? Do you have to walk far to your destination? Are the neighbors friendly? Etc. After that, see what it’s like to purchase groceries, hanging out with friends, going to work, etc. Is the area heavily crowded with commuters during rush hour? Are the streets generally safe to drive?
